Lars Ek
Mr. Lars Ek is the founder of frosinisociety.org and a renowned accordionist. Feel free to write any questions or send material that you wish us to publish on this website. Lars Ek is one of Sweden’s most skilled accordionists. He is known for his interpretations of Pietro Frosini and Nisse Lind. Lars is also known for his own compositions.
Members of the Swedish Accordionist Association (SDR) have elected Lars to Accordionist of the Year 2009. Read the article here (PDF)
Lars is from Stockholm, and started to play the accordion at the age of 5. He made his debut on the radio at the age of 6!
As an active accordionist, he has accompanied several musicians in Sweden and abroad. He has been on tour with his popular "Hot Trio" - he also does solo performances.
Through the years, Lars has produced many recordings where he has succeeded in reproducing the sound and beauty of the great accordion composers.
We can thank Lars for founding "The Frosini Society" in 1985. The society main task is to preserve the old accordion music. Lars is chairman of the Frosini Society, and does a considerable amount of work to ensure the growth and popularity of the accordion - both in Sweden and abroad.
